§ 8.12.220. Hearing determination—Building—Declaration of public nuisance—Abatement order.

A.

When the board finds that the building is a substandard building, it is declared a public nuisance and based upon its findings the board shall order the abatement of this nuisance by barricading, demolition, repair or rehabilitation of the substandard building or portion thereof or, at the option of the party concerned, by the demolition or demolishment thereof. The order also may require that the substandard building be vacated.

B.

The order shall state a reasonable time within which the work shall be completed which shall not be less than ten days after the service of this order. The board, for good cause, may extend the time for completion in writing.
