§ 10.24.080. Curb parking.

Latest version.
  • A.

The city traffic engineer is authorized to install and maintain parking space markings to indicate parking spaces adjacent to curbings where parking is permitted.

    B.

When such parking space markings are placed on the highway, subject to other and more restrictive limitations, no vehicle shall be stopped, left standing or parked other than within a single space unless the size or shape of such vehicle makes compliance impossible.

    C.

Except as otherwise provided in this title, every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there are adjacent curbs shall be stopped or parked with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel with and within eighteen inches of the right-hand curb, except that motorcycles shall be parked with at least one wheel or fender touching the right-hand curb. Where no curbs or barriers bound any roadway, right-hand parallel parking is required unless otherwise indicated. Provisions of this section do not apply to a commercial vehicle if a variation from the above requirement is reasonably necessary to accomplish loading or unloading of merchandise or passengers on, or from, such vehicle and while anything connected with such loading, or unloading, is being accomplished.
